Good backpack for around $50?

I am taking a trip to the Czech Republic this summer and I need a backpack. I have recently purchased a Canon sl1 with the 18-55mm kit lens. I am going to purchase a Canon 75-300mm. I need a backpack that is small but not too small, I also need to be able to put a pair of shorts and a laptop in it. When we go on hikes we will need to be able to put our backpacks on the front while we have our camping backpacks on our backs.

I was going to get the Tamrac Expedition 5X backpack last month. It will hold the camera stuff you mention plus small laptop. The camera shop did not have it so I picked up a Tamrac Aero 80, holds a larger laptop, but is a bit big to put on the front.

I also have the Tamrac Adventure 7 and it has put in a good six years of use with no problems, but will not hold a laptop - the Adventure 9 will hold a laptop.

Another nice bag that will take a small camera setup and small laptop is the Lowepro Passport backpack.

Just like with a camping pack, best is to test out in the store.
