Got a new camera and lens

I just bought a D80 and it came with the kit 18-135mm lens. It also came with the quantary 55-200mm F4-5.6 lens.

From what i have read about the quantary 55-200mm lens, they say that it does not take sharp images.

I was wondering if anyone has used or has a quantary 55-200mm lens and if they were able to get good pictures with this lens? If so was there any techniques that worked better with this lens.

At one time most of the Quantary lenses were made by Sigma.

That could be the same as the Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC lens.

Rule of Thumb ... hand-held shutter speed >= focal length

The poorest image quality tends to be at the maximum aperture.

not yet. I just got it and im busy working and going to concerts(would love to take pics there but im afraid to bring the camera there) till wed or thursday. Will hopefully have a few pics up thursday or Fri.
