Grad pics

Was able to do a couple shoots for graduation this summer. Looking for some c&c esp on exposure/color correction and any tips on it (pulled from fbook so sorry the quality isn't the best).

wow! nice photo.. i love taking photo specially when the time has a great moment that won't be forget...

C&C per req:

1. A different time of day would have worked a lot better. Shooting into the sun is rarely a good idea; you have large blown areas and your composition is unusual. Next time, try moving farther back and including all of her; the crop at the knees is awkward to say the least.

2. Neat idea, but you needed at least one speedlight off-camera to add some supplemental light to the scene and improve the exposure on her robe. I think this is one case where centering the subject would have worked very well.

3 & 4. Both awkward compositions, and with busy, distracting backgrounds, especially #4. Again, the time of day didn't work, and the cropping of her sash isn't the best choice.

5. This is a nice image, but would be all the stronger were it shot in portrait orientation, and I think we should have been able to see the lettering on her sash.

Overall, they're not a bad set, some good ideas, but also some room for improvement. In future, please remember to number your images to help those providing critique.

+1 take these tips seriously, you've also got some exposure issues (blown highlights) and lens flare issues (image #1)

Thanks for the great critiques I will definitely keep those in mind. I def picked the ones that deviated from the standard portrait format to get some feedback on the unconventional pics

if you have photoshop go to levels and make sure you have true blacks. and watch shooting in to the sun very difficult to do right
