We had an open cab, American Lafrance pumper in the department for many years. As it was in the station closest to me, it was the one I usually drove, loved that thing. We live in a hilly, wooded area with narrow curvy roads. The set back front axle was highly maneuverable. On my end of the valley I was always first on the scene.
