It is a pretty cool area. I worked at Hosmer winery while I was in high school. Did you make it to Taughannock falls while you were there?
We didn't make it to those falls, they were on my list though. We spent a day in Watkins Glen and then went up to Letchworth State Park the next day. Wish we would of had more time. Maybe I'll get back up there again someday!

You had to revive a thread that hasn't seen any new posts in over a month for that?

Copypasta spam. It's just a bot that cuts parts out of posts and reposts them with a ridiculous ass smiley.

Copypasta spam. It's just a bot that cuts parts out of posts and reports them with a ridiculous ass smiley.

That's what I thought too, that post wasn't copied from anywhere in this thread that I can see...

After seeing some of this guy's other posts though, I'd have to agree that it's a bot.

I looked at a couple other posts, and agree - weird spam bot. Anyway- he's kilt! :-P

You obviously did not read anything beyond the first post - strike that - beyond the title...

Hell, even in the first post - I was asking about "forum policy", not my freedom of speech.

Basically, I was seeking clarification on what the rules were, not challenging them. Even the text you quoted shows that.

Freedom of speech is slowly being taken away everywhere in America or maybe each MOD has different opinions on what should be locked or not. One MOD might say hey no gun talk here at all while another might let it roll so as long as it stays civil. Unless they talk to each other and make such a decision together.
Freedom of speech does not apply in a private forum. We ALL agree when we join to conform to the rules of this site and that is the way it is. Therefor the mods can ban the topics of their choice when they need to when it does not conform to said rules and they should. The Freedom of speech thing ONLY applies when it is in a PUBLIC place and even then if it erodes someone else's safety then can be prosecuted.. like for instance yelling "BOMB" or "FIRE" in a crowded theater/airport is both illegal and prosecutable. So just because there is a basic tenet of "Freedom of Speech" there is still and always HAS been certain limitations on that.

I'm not sure I totally understand the forum policy on firearm related discussions... Was that thread locked merely because the topic was related to firearms, or was it something specific in a post or a link?

I guess what I'm asking is, are all firearm related posts (regardless of the content/context) taboo, or was there something else that prompted the lock?

I was under the impression that it was OK as long as it stayed civilized. Has that changed? ...Because I didn't really see anything in that (very short) thread that seemed uncivilized.

Is this another bot?

How many times are you going to paste that message?

Relax. No I am not a freaking bot. I CORRECTED the quote. That ok with you???

lol

Sorry - there seem to be a lot of spammers that just copy & paste stuff here.

Anyway, I totally agree that freedom of speech does not apply in some situations, and I don't even think that's a bad thing - lol.

Your house, your rules - and all that...
