My son came in town for a night and we snapped a few pictures. Here is one from the set.

Really nice! You clipped his hair though.. he didn't look like he needed a haircut to me? lol It always throws me off when people post the thumbnail size or whatever too.. I thought he was ghostly and then I enlarged the photo and he was no longer freezing cold, though still maybe a tinnyyy bit cool for my taste.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I'm gonna clip hair - that's just how I shoot sometimes. I focus on the face, get it where I want and what gets clipped gets clipped!

Handsome. I like it. I like the darker shadows camera left. It adds so much to a head shot of a male. I am a tight shooter too, so I don't mind the crop.

In the world of pro portraiture, a head tilted/angled to the low shoulder is considered a 'feminine' pose.
A slight tilt of his head to his higher shoulder may have made for an even stronger image.

It always creeps me out when you can see the outer ring from a persons contact lens. On the other hand it does show how bang on the focus is.

Thanks. Yeah, he's done some modeling, some acting both stage and film (proud dad mode). I understand what you mean by the head tilt - good info and I will try and pay attention to that in the future!

I know! Right after we took the pictures I was taking a look to see if focus was good, etc. I said "You should have taken out your lenses!" He's coming back next week and we'll have more time so I hope to get some good shots - without contact lenses!
