Hi all! I'm a first year grad student working on a PhD at Iowa State University. I've been trying to take more pictures and get better at photography for about a year and am definitely still a beginner. Currently my only camera is a Canon Powershot A720 IS, but I think I'm finally getting good enough that a new camera and some lighting equipment would be worthwhile investments. Any suggestions on what to get first would definitely be appreciated!
