Gorgeous sunrise color today. Here comes Irene!!!

Around five thirty in the morning I looked out my window and saw black smoke rolling across the sky. Being me, I rushed out the door with my camera to track down the fire. After chasing the smoke about half a mile, I was slightly disappointed to find out there was no fire, but a gigantic black cloud that was hanging too low and wiping out the city. It was still pretty neat as this gorgeous red sky was on one side of me, and then if I turned around, I saw this:

Hopefully I can get some good ones as the hurricane comes in tomorrow morning.

What time is Irene suppose to hit NH? can't believe we have tropical storm warnings way up here in new England. I'm in northern VT. it's beautiful today -calm before the storm? I hope it's not too bad or better yet misses us!

Well we are already getting the first trails of the rain and the wind now, but the meat of the storm isn't supposed to hit until tomorrow morning. They keep going between a Category 1 and a tropical storm, but I am thinking that it is going to be more towards the Category 1 end. Should be interesting. We had a tornado in the state last Sunday, a quake a few days ago, and now the hurricane. Gotta love New England!!!

Right now in NJ its not to bad. Some normal rain. I don't think it will make it to NH as a Cat 1. if it does it's worse for me here first. I have an update call for work tomorrow at 6 am. Will let you know what's going on LIVE at that time. I am just west of the GW Bridge so it will be real. Stay well and stay safe.

Definitely let us know what's going on! I'm not afraid to admit I'm a little scared. We dint get weather like this. We get ice storms, nor'easters, etc. But no tropical storms! You guys stay safe as well!

I am in Delaware and we are getting slammed right now. Massive power outages, tornados, and it is raining like crazy. Most everyone I know is in a basement. If it's coming your way - be safe!!!

Then why bother making the comment? You have no way of knowing if he'd understand and it's a bit late on the second part imho. I'd also be interested to know why asking permission to use someones picture as a desktop background is such a mindblowing thing. It seems courteous to me.

It's 6:22am here and we have rain and a little bit of wind. Looks as if we are getting the bulk of the storm from 9am until around 4pm. I think it's just going to be a glorified rain storm, but we will see I guess! Hope everyone stays safe and dry!

On a side note, it's a remote thought for me having to worry about the weather killing people and damaging houses of thousands. Truly, not at all used to that up here.

Sunset it pretty nice! I'm sure if the silhouettes are in focus, though.. or perhaps my vision is getting rusty.
