High School Senior Portraits

Some shots from last nights High School Senior Session. I know I need to bring in more of her personality, but her passions are her phone, her car and boys, she couldn't bring her car, guess I could have gotten some pics of her playing with her phone. I seem to be stuck doing the same pose over and over. It was very windy, so trying to get shots with her hair not flying everywhere was a challenge.

4,5, and last one are the best IMO. Most of the other ones are underexposed IMO. Sometimes you just want them to do their own thing and dont make them look at the camera.

3 and 4 are my favorite. Very pretty young lady. Was she happy with the results?

I like 6 and 8 for what they are...however definitely could have used better lighting and/or exposure. I think 2 and 3 could have been fantastic with the obvious better lighting/exposure but more importantly...better backgrounds. The background in both ruin it more than the underexposed look. I do like 5 for its pose and background...well shot in the respect.

I love 3, 4 and the last photo! I think I would edit them differently, a little brighter and warmer would be awesome. Love them all!

Lighting and color are iffy. Are you adjusting your white balance when needed? This looks like you were set on an indoor white balance with outdoor pics.

#3 is my pick of the lot. Wierd outfit, but at least she is smiling. Almost smiling in #8, but if not for 3&4, I'd say she never smiles. Actually, wierd outfit x2. What is it about some kids and their taste in clothing? It was not you who needed to bring her personality. Seriously; her phone, car, and boys? <rant off>

#1 & 2 underexposed, cluttered background in #2
#3 & 4 not bad, but light seems a little flat
#6, 7, & 8 all need better lighting setup

She does smile, but has a weird tooth that is real obvious in photos when she has a big smile. The outfits were all hers, I did veto one she wanted to wear, a real loud striped shirt, bright blue and orange. She was very happy with the results. I was shooting in manual mode. so have several different lighting setups. I did this photo shoot just to get more experience shooting in manual with my new camera, not as a "real" senior session. Looks like I have alot more practing to do !
