How can I get better composition here?

What type of shot is it exactly? As in, what would your ideal shot transmit, etc.

Going out on a limb, but I'm guessing the OPs after a selective focus image. There's no EXIF data on the image, so I have no idea what the settings were, but assuming my guess is correct, long glass and a large aperture.

Yeah, I didn't know how to answer the question because I don't really know what the term for it was. This response and google answered my question and lets me know how I screwed it up. Thanks.
