how do i make a picture "pop"..help needed..

opened file in elements and i shows 4 layers but not what was done on them ....will try on ps later.. will that be any different?
 
i thought elements was like ps for idiots.. i got ps7 but never used it looked too complicate

I guess it doesn't really tell you whats done, just shows the different looks of them all.

That top layer is a High Pass Filter set to softlight. That is where most of the tone came back.

More like "PS - Lite".

It does almost everything that the full PS does.

Some really really bad edits posted in this thread - dominantly, yours is the only one actually better than the original.

Also:
i thought elements was like ps for idiots.. i got ps7 but never used it looked too complicate

i got ps7 first and had never seen any editing software before...it scared the pants off me...then i looked at elements and it looked simpler ..so stuck with it

To be fair though, we were all working with a small JPG...

...And I didn't really spend much time on it. :meh:
