How do you get rid off a glue stickes on the subject?

I'm about to do something stupid. I'm planning to use a hot glue on the back of my expensive watch and stick with an armature wire. When I'm done photographing, how can I separate the armature wire and my watch? How can I remove the glue off the back of my watch.

Hot glue on steel/aluminum/metal should peel right off.

Rather than hot glue get some museum wax or blue-tac. That's what is generally used in studio for product/still life work.

What Scatter said, however if you DO use hot-glue and it does grip, throw it all in the freezer for 10-15 minutes and it should come off without any issue.

Like stated before... chill and peel. Metal and hotglue contract at different rates which should make it pop right off.

hot glue usually comes off of most things very easily..

something like parma double sided gel tape works great for sticking small objects to something, as long as you do not leave it on there for a extended period of time it just peals right off and I have never noticed it leaving any sticky stuff behind.
