I personally like it but what makes it look nonprofessional and how could I improve it in anyway? I dont have a dslr I have a point and shoot so i don't have any lenses to play around with.

very nice. great focus. maybe a slight angle, but keep the center of the flower your
focus point.

Hmmmmmm, looks soft to me.......anyone else?

Re-shoot and nail the focus? I don't know how to fix this issue w/ your P&S. Maybe some else can chime in?

The centered composition, not having the entire flower in the frame, the to shallow for the subject depth-of-field, and the lighting make it look unprofessional.

A professional understands the limitations of their equipment, and stays within those limits.

If you have image editing software you can make it look somewhat sharper by adjusting the mid-tone contrast, applying some luminosity sharpening, some LAB color mode sharpening, and some UnSharp Mask (USM) sharpening.

Thanks for breaking it down for me Keith! Quick question as I am a noob, what do you mean its to shallow for the subject depth of field? Also can you explain more about the lighting? Thanks!
