How to find out number of pictures taken by D90

I was also considering downloading Magic Lantern, but after reading about some of the risks, and being a photography newb, I decided that it wasn't worth the risk especially since I really don't know what I am doing. It does look like it would be very much useful if it were a little bit more newb friendly.

Is it true that all Nikon DSLR bodies save the actuation count in it's files? Wish it was this easy with Canon.

I've never heard of an image with full exif not having the shutter count. No matter what the brand.

Canon bodies does not save the shutter count in its photos and requires special software to read it from the body. With some bodies only a trip to Canon can give an accurate number.

Well that's stupid lol. Why haven't I ever heard of this complaint before?

Accuracy is an unknown with both the web site and the Magic Lantern software.

Reading the shutter count in Nikon's EXIF, MakerNote section leaves no room to doubt the accuracy.

I'm not really concerned about how accurate the count is, both cameras are old and tired like me. The MKll has a torn shutter for the second time, and won't be getting repaired. I figure once a camera has gone over 150,000 it should be put out to pasture.
