Hello. I just got my first external flash - a vivitar 383 - that I am using with my D80. When aimed directly at the person it reads the TTL info and the pics come out properly exposed.
But when I swivel it up to bounce off the ceiling (or the wall behind me, etc) it doesn't read the TTL info and the pics usually come out over exposed. The flash came with an annoyingly short instruction pamphlet that didn't adequately explain how to use it.
Are there any good sites or tutorials that explain how to use an external flash without TTL? One that needs to be done manually? Or am I just doing something completely wrong?
