Hummingbirds are from outer space

[MitchP2]

They can't be from Earth...

Not as sharp as I like, but there's always next time!

Thanks. What did you think of the sequence of the hummingbird flashing its colors? Bizarre, no?

I agree with what's been said ......

The spectacular iridescence displayed by Hummingbirds
is well known… the wind was just not playing with you!

Just behavior unique to this hummer. I've never seen a male ruby-throat make an effort like that; their coloring is just there.

You caught a nice sequence, for sure! He looks very perky and pleased with himself in the last shot.

I was too far away and the bird was to small. But I saw the flashing and was curious what was going on. The pic was mostly just to find out what he was doing, I'm not submitting to National Geographic

As you may know, I don't know squat about birds, so it's all new to me!

Thanks! Interesting info. It's other worldly

I am not a birder for sure but I like to study my subjects ho-
ping to get the best out of them. I'm just an image hunter.

Nice capture of the color flashing ... mission accomplished!

I can and do spend hours watching them here. Awesome little birds. You shared something I really enjoyed!
