I have a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 on the way. From what I've read, there isn't a very noticeable difference if not miniscule. Now you have me worried since someone just said "knocks it back to the last century and then some."

though in retrospect he probably did mean the sigma 70-200mm
the 70-300mm is knocked into last century - as for the sigma 70-200mm I have no idea about the quality in that lens

I was going to go with the sigma 70-200 but i went for the canon due to IS and that great white lens color
