I have roughly 300 CAD to spend on Camera Equipment

I'm thinking about getting:
32GB Sandisk SD Card
Tripod (help needed of a tripod for landscape photography)
Polarizer or ND filters

$300, what should I get?

What kind of photography are you doing?

If landscape, then blow the entire $300 on a decent tripod.

IMO, you will only need the CP once in a while when taking pictures over water, snow, or ice where the glare is prominent.

SD cards are fairly cheap, so unless you really need the 32GB, hold off on that for now.

Is there no way to get a good $200 tripod?
I'm not going to do any super professional work, so $300 is a bit of a hefty price...
And no, a Big Mac combo is like $6-7
I'll be doing more landscape with my tripod.

Well shop around for sure, but since you will be using the tripod for a long time, get a good one.

I would get a 50mm 1.8 lens + Polarizel for my 24-105mm
Or I would get a telezoom, I don't know Canon lenses but I bought a 70-300mm VR Nikon lens which is a fantastic lens for 280$ used from kijiji

Tripods are a great thing to buy used; in fact I've got one or two that I've hardly used that I bought only because they were such a good deal on Craig's List I couldn't pass them up! $200 is plenty to get you both a very good set of legs and ball-head on the used market. I'm going to disagree with Designer on the CPOL however; I use mine almost all of the time when shooting landscape photography; it's great for adding natural looking saturation, darkening blue skies/increasing sky/cloud contrast, and in general, IMO, greatly improves the appearance of most landscape images. $100 will get you a very good used (Lee, Singh-Ray, B+W or Heliopan) CPOL or a decent (Tiffen, Hoya) new one; ensure you get a multi-coated one.

Well... I'm thinking about a Hoya 77mm and a Silk Pro 700DX.

Not a bad unit, but generally ball heads are found preferable for landscape work.

I get that this remark is probably intended to be facetious, but you do realize it isn't 1998 anymore, right? Today, the Canadian and US dollars are roughly at par, with $1 Canadian actually being worth more than $1 US for the better part of the last 2 years. Take it from somebody with bona fide stakes in the exchange rate--I live in Canada and earn a salary in US dollars. I do not look fondly upon the memory of transferring over $2000 USD and only getting about $1940 Canadian for it. :thumbdown:

Anyway, back on topic, if I were the OP I'd put the money towards a flash, hands down. But, I agree tripod is a better choice if landscape photography is the main interest.
