She IS cute! I even like the posing... but you can see the dark shadows here too. Whup that, and you got it!

I like both of these ('though the face in the second seems a tad soft). I think all you need to do is bring your key and reflector in closer and just tweak the reflector angle a bit to deal with those pesky shadows. I'd say you're 90% there with this set, and already into the fine tuning. If your model has the patience, try some experimenting, move the light incrementally closer (from where it is now until it's say 2' away) and do the same with the reflector (adjusting your exposure as req'd) and also tweak the reflector angle a bit and then look at the results as a series of images in LR and see how the distance changes the appearance of shadows. It might not hurt to raise the key just a hair too...

Thanks Tire unfortunately I left the reflector out of the actual equation.

But as we speak I'm planning another shoot soon, and hopefully with the same cute subject.

But but the first photo showed my set up . Room was as big but I'm tinkering and will definitely use the same setup. I may take Charles advice and start REALLY experimenting with the light.

It didn't look to me like you had a reflector... I was wondering! lol!

I didn't see any sign of it either, but his diagram showed it... Lots of people don't quite get reflector angles right when they first start using them, but once you nail it, you can do some awesome work with one light and a reflector!

One thing I kept thinking about was how tall should the main light be.

For example, my main light 32x48 softbox. Should the main light:

A) Eye level of the subject?

B) Be slightly higher than the subject?

C) It is a matter of preference, and im thinking waaay to much into it.

D). Kathy bring bacon to the shoot?

Generally we expect lighting to come from above; the sun, ceiling lights, etc. I generally raise my lights so that they're slight above the subject's head and point down 10-15 degrees.
