Where am I now?
... you think it's not there.

UNICEF has just published it's report for 2005.
So before agonising over what lens to buy or what Christmas presents to get your friends, please read the report you can find on this site:

http://www.unicef.org/

Then examine your priorities and your conscience.
And before anyone says 'but what can I do?' go to these sites:

http://www.christian-aid.org.uk/

http://donate.wvus.org/OA_HTML/xxwvibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?a=b

Or try this site for presents that REALLY show you care

It's coming up to Christmas and most of us using this board share the dubious privilege of living in some of the richest countries in the world. I know that some of you don't have much - but you have a heck of a lot more than some people.
And Christmas is supposed to be a time for children...

That ends the sermon for to-day.

Indeed. There are tons of places to help. There is a Books and Bears foundation i give lots to every year. It does a lot for local families.

this year at birkenstock we did toys for tots. but hertz has the right idea. its not about all this crap we dont need, its about what we can offer others.

Here Here! Well said!

Zach :D

Just putting this back into the heap. What's interesting is it's only had about 80 views - I've viewed it several times and I assume some of you have too. That gives a conservative estimate of about 50 people who have read it.
As the board has a membership of over 3200... where the Hell are they all?

Don't know how I missed this one.......

Hertz, I think you have the right idea here. All too often we focus on the material things at the holidays. It's amazing what helping someone else will do to lift your own spirits.
