It's interesting to see how many people want gear (myself included), and how much of that gear is not the OEM brand. I am seeing quite a few tokina's and sigma's. Me personally, the Sigma 50mm 1.4 is sharper from what i've read than than the nikon 50mm 1.4.

Yeah, but Sigma's HSM focusing motor's performance is spotty at best. If it was better, I'd buy it in a heart beat.

I have a Sigma 50 1.4... and it is dead on.... no "spotty" to it....

What I've noticed with sigma lenses is that one in three have accurate spot on focus. I personally have little to no experience, just talking from all the research and what I've seen about sigma lenses, and this one in particular.

Yeah - "EOS Rebel" leaves a ton of room for interpretation... I mean, just given that information, you could be talking about the original 35mm Rebel, which probably costs about $30 these days (maybe even less)...

Actually I'd buy myself few more speedlights. Addictive little bastards, once you start you'll never have enough of them. And batteries. Tons of batteries.

Try building race cars, or owning a plane.

Those are the two most popular hobbies of my co-workers, and it makes photography look damn cheap.

That is fact. I spent 10x more on my car hobby than on my photography hobby. I couldn't afford both so I gave up the car hobby.

I already have a decent macro setup on my Nikon but there's no equivalent to the beautiful MP-E in terms of magnification. There are times I just want to get that close. It would be nice if a Canon lens to Nikon body adapter was made, then I could just buy the lens and use it on my D7000.

I just spent $800 on the following:

and some other crap.

Now I feel confident I'll have sufficient backup for my photos and videos.

check out some of his work and have a peek in his setups set; he uses a variety of setups which can equal or even beat the MPE - might be worth checking out as an option; least then you can certainly get some items that will work on your Nikon cameras

Get the T3i! It's probably one of the best SLR video cameras on the market... If you wanna go $100 cheaper, then get the T2i. It's almost as good but without a flip out screen, manual audio, and 1080p digital zoom.
