Hey guys,
I'm just curious. We were approached by an event coordinator about using our business for shooting events, most likely we would only take weddings. But there was talk of incentives, not anyone specifically.
My questions are:
1. Would we give a lower price to the client, eg 10% off
2. Would we offer the planner commission, eg 5-10%
3. Any other incentives that I could be missing?
4. What type of contract/agreement should we come up with for such an arrangement?

Thanks

The planner probably couldn't give a rat's behind about any incentive for clients.
Offer him a percentage of fees with any client discounts coming from his end.
If he signs a contract spelling this out, I would think he's nuts.

I would say what you have been offered is backwards.

In return for Event coordinators/planners, and other B2B referrals that referred me to clients that used my services, the referring business got consideration on my commercial use licensing fees.

In other words, the referring business got a discount on using event images I made that they wanted to use to promote or advertise their business.

If my client got any discount, that was between me and the client. The referring business had nothing to do with that.
