It's rather difficult to critique images of this nature since they appear to be 'memory snaps' rather than planned images. A few general comments: The WB is inconsistant ranging from an almost jaundiced yellow in the first to pretty much spot-on in the last. The DoF is far too shallow in #1, resulting in only a small part of the face being in focus. Remember too that the portrait or vertical orientation is often more suitable for shooting... *gasp* wait for it.... Portraits!



These all appear to be rather tightly framed and you've cropped parts of people off which is acceptable when unavoidable, but not really best practice. Overall, they're a cute set of images which will preserve a family memory.

#1) I actually like this one and the extreme shallow DOF. It's an interesting picture.
#2) I like the expression on the child's face but the lighting doesn't work for me.
#3) Don't care for this one. The child's expression is nice but it seems a little bland to me. Maybe bump up the saturation or contrast a bit.

Take all of this with a grain of salt since I'm a noob!

#1 Shot vertically, and with correct WB.. it would have been a nice image. As it is, it is a good memory snapshot... nothing more. Cute kid!
#2 cute shot... lighting is ok for what it is. If you had been a little farther camera left, we could have seen more of mom too.. her expression looks like it would have made for a nice photo.
#3 Cute.. but too much head and chin missing... there again, shoot vertically for shots like this, unless you have a specific reason not to.
