Hello,

So I had my first fashion shoot today, which I totally loved. This is one of the shots that I really like... it's just so moody! Would love to hear some of your thoughts on it!

Thanks!

I'm a fan of it

Not a fan of the weird shadow on her face. A reflector would have helped to have on camera left..As well as having her turn her head more to her left... I would have left the purse out of the shot since it is so cropped..

The weird shadow is actually something that draws me more to the image! Thanks for your comments though - certainly something to consider!

The right ankle (skin) is light and draws my eyes to it. I would consider cropping it out or burning it to make it not so bright. (Draws my eyes to that part of the picture.

The shadow on her face gives this photo a unique emotion, but there is a bit too much shadow around the eyes. Her right foot is cut off, her clothes are a bit too dark, and her hands seem like the subject of the photo as they are the mos lit and that's where my eyes immediately go to. I would get her whole body in the shot, including both feet and the purse, and adjust the lighting a bit as I like her position and the background. Hope I don't sound too critical.

Overall I like it. Not crazy about the shadow lines on her face, but I don't mind that the hands are bright. It's a fashion shot, after all, and the point might very well be to sell the bag she's holding, so it would make sense that you'd want to draw attention to that area. And it also doesn't matter to me that the bag or her ankle is cut off. I've seen plenty of high fashion ads that have done the same. There are a few on this site that show cut off bags that are being advertised or body parts of the models: Beautiful Fashion Ads I | Surreal Princess

I like it

I too think the high contrast supports the mood

She has good bones and her marbled hands are in keeping

If there was a choice for crop, I would crop below the hands - cut off the bag and asymmetrical legs position; they don't contribute

Good work

Yeah, I was thinking about cropping the asymmetrical legs thing too...

Here's an edit. Darkened hands a teeny bit, lowered the contrast a little and cropped.
