Trying to develop candid protrait skills. I shot this at a local Jr. hockey game. Your thoughts please.

As a candid/unposed portrait this has great composition and feeling. To me, the colors look a bit dull. I think a little boost in saturation would bring this photo to the next level.

I actually like the colors. Dull colors just seem to work really well for this shot. It gives it more of the candid look i guess. Also, it feels like the focus is off just the tiniest little bit. The mask is in super-sharp focus, and the face is a alright-sharp focus.

I love the feeling the kid has tho, and the composition is great.

Tgis photo has a great cropping. I like those colors - don't change them :)

It's a nice photo, I like the way he looks like he's going to war.

I'd have to agree with leaving the colors as is. Excellent sharpness, good composition.

Thanks for the comments and critique. I was attempting to portray a very intense momement with a high energy level yet to be released. To me, the reds provided the intense setting and yet keeping those reds cool or not as vibrant showed and high build up of energy.
