What's new

Just got my 1st circular polarizer, any tips?

Benny.. thats just part of being on a forum. Dont sweat it.

Try to shoot somebody behind a glass (like a clear store front window for example) in an angle with and without the filter. See the difference.

Sorry if I offended anyone, I just get frustrated as hell when I ask for "personal" tips/suggestions and get directed to google like I'm too much of a n00b to know that it exists.
Figured someone on here would have "personal" experience for someone like me to learn from.....I don't know, maybe some photos you've taken while learning how to use a polarizer and how you've improved your technique since 1st getting one??

Ah, but rude begets rude, had Derrel not posted what amounted to a "rude" comment, albiet a helpful one, he would not have received a "rude" comment back...

Not to difficult of idea to ease your minds around, is it?

However, you may gain more knowledge if you do your own research. :)

You asked for articles as well though, and unless you wanted someone to write a personal one for you, you're going to be directed to google for that I'm sure, but it could have been handled in a little less "off-puttish " way...but so be it, its over and done, now its time to move forward. Did you find the tips and articles to be helpful? If so, a simple thanks will do and we can strip off our cranky pants in a sexy little happy dance...

I'm sure OP did research and found ThePhotoForum, a place to find specific help, which in this instance would be photography...

So that justifies it? Good to know. Next time someone is a douche to me, its totally ok to personally come across as superbitch. And here all along I have been trying to turn the other cheek.

It may not justify it, one should not be rude to someone else that was rude...but if you're rude to someone, don't expect anything different back...

Negative emotions beget negative situations, positive emotions help you past negative situations

I don't think Derrel was rude at all. Sarcastic perhaps but not rude. OP came back with rude backslap. Haven't you ever poked fun of someone without the intent to injure. Seems to me more like what Derrel intended but I'm not him so can not say. Whatever. You choose your opinion. I choose mine. C'est la vie.

Good point...

I'm sure there were a lot of good tips. It was the response given. There are a lot of "cranky pants" being worn today apparently...

:sexywink:

Nobody is being cranky, except perhaps YOU AgentDrex...your weird photos of your friends simply did NOT go over well, and you're projecting...

Seriously man, you're acting like a doosh....as Tyler spells it!

I compiled a list of the four BEST links I could come up with for use of a circular polarizing filter for a beginner, including one that has many decent video clips...

So,as the British say, cheeri-o!
