Just messing around (NSFW!)

I have read most of this post... interesting...
the only thing i want to mention about the second set is to watch the focus and disappearing arm... it is distractive to me...
its great you have a model that will work with you like this... Id say keep shooting her in different ways, and in different lighting situations. This will make you better when it comes to other people... I would also say try posing her a lot just to see how the light and shadows work and how to work with the muscle tone and working out skin wrinkles and all that jazz...
And always remember... we are all here to help critique your photos... ;)

Wow, I was really surprised when I came back here to check on my thread and I found 130-something posts. Very interesting indeed.

I don't have a problem with you guys taking over my thread by the way.

As far as the comments about the model, who is my girlfriend by the way , most of them were totally fine. I like the suggestions about where she is looking or the hair or the pose those all help me out. I could live without hearing whether or not she is hot because that is all in the personal opinion of the person that looks at the picture as someone already said. I don't take the other comments personally and its easy to ignore stuff like that especially on the internet.

I've done a total of 3 shoots now with her doing this type of stuff so I definitely am far from being very good at it. My entire goal posting here was just for some quick feedback and some things I could try to improve my photos and technique and I think I accomplished that so far.

As far as the PS'ed face onto my picture. I definitely understand people having a good time and going for a laugh and I'm not upset or offended by that. Like I said regarding the unsatisfactory comments before its just something that I don't have to pay any attention to. Things like that can only bother you if you let them.

my point is that it's not your photo to manipulate to get that quick laugh.

It was in poor taste, but I realise you will just continue to make excuses to justify it - in the end you took it down which is all I could ask for.

It wasn't your photo either. Maybe the OP would have had a sense of humour about it, or maybe he would have been offended and asked it to be taken down. He should have been the one to make that call. I haven't seen a mod step in, so as carnival-esque as this thread has been, I think it's still in the realm of "acceptable." I'd hate to see what would happen if we start altering posts every time someone gets a little miffed.

WDodd's opinion matters most on this, and I hope that we haven't offended him. Kyle's PS job wasn't a commentary on WDodd's work or his girl, but if he's upset by it for any reason, he has a right to be. I don't see a reason for anyone else to upset by it, unless they like the feeling of knots in their boxers.

Edit: BAM!

I'm just about as easy going as they come and it was definitely good for a quick laugh as was the intention. Although I might never be able to look at that picture again.

It would have been a different story if was a blow at me or the model or something like that but that definitely wasn't how I viewed it. So all is well.

Haha thanks.

She's a pretty girl.
I like the color and the light in the first, but there are some problems here as well. Her hair is all bunched up on top making her appear to have a super long face.
The back arm is missing, and it almost looks like she's scratching her butt. Sorry, but I swear that was my first though. But it's not a bad photo at all.
The second one is focused on her hip, and you seem to be shooting shallow, so her face is not sharp. Also, you have to watch "missing things". For instance, because she only has half a hip in this photo, it looks like she has a oddly weird butt, and is wearing backless panties. I know she's not, but it takes the eye a minute to register. The first IMO works much better.
The third is almost there, but you have the butt scratching problem, and a problem with the lower leg (Because it extends out so much further, it looks larger than the top leg.)
I will say these are leaps and bounds above the very first shot you posted.

you guys realize this thread has 4.5 x more views than any other thread on the front page of the critique forum? Way to go WDodd

Never would I have thought that a post of my would attract this much attention. I can't wait until my next attempted nude/implied nude shoot LOL!

I also just noticed that I almost have as many views on this thread as the rules for the critique forum.

I like the lingerie ones more than the shower one because they seem less amateur porn and more luscious romance model. If that makes sense.

Perhaps they are still a little too "sexy".

I feel like I shouldn't automatically check out the model's boobs with this kind of work. But I do anyways. Maybe draw more attention to the model's face and make her body a sort of second-glance sort of thing. That will make the shots less porno.
