What's your light source? The first isn't too bad but the inscription is only half in focus. Kind of annoying trying to read it. Narrower aperture = gooder in this situation.

Whatever your light source was (flash or light setup) I would try to diffuse it more so you have a softer shadow. The background seems a bit noisy too and the books seem a bit distracting.

They pictures overall are good though. I like the compostion in the first one and the use of the white rope is great. Nice job.
