Wow, this is among the best dog portraits I have seen in a while. Again the same use of window light as in the pics on your daughter, right? Very nice, as it is coming from the side. Or from behind? Erm...

Ferny, he's actually a really well behaved dog, although a bit....er....exuberant at times.
