Can an experienced photographer take a photograph of just about anything and make it look amazing?

My problem at moment as a beginner is deciding what to photograph.

Interesting photos are all around you. Put your camera down and look for patterns, lines, and textures. Most photographers when they start out focus on too many details, trying to "get it all in" the composition. Narrow your focus. Try a different perspective. Look for beauty that the non photographer would miss.

That's often an issue for photographers that have little or no visual arts training.

A couple of photography visualization assignments used like forever in teaching the art of photography is to take 10 quality photos of 10 different things within 10 feet of you, right now.

Or

Go in the bathroom, shut the door, and make 10 quality photographs

I wouldn't use the word 'amazing', but rather finish your question with "...and make a photo that has impact?"

To that I say, yes.

I posted three in the 10 interesting things thread. But this philosophy is basically what I do when I go out shooting.

Forcing yourself to follow a theme (e.g., "within 10 ft.") sometimes helps you see interesting things. Two I like are "looking up" and "looking down," both things people typically don't do much when they're just walking around.

I am going out on my bike tomorrow armed with camera and gonna look for weird and wonderful things to photograph (and get some exercise and fresh-air into the bargain)

I'm am going to answer Maybe.

I can usually find something "Interesting" to shoot But say I am going for an "Amazing" landscape and the Light just isn't there, I can't pull that light out of my butt and make something amazing out of it. I can usually find something to shoot and it isn't always what I went to shoot. The scene usually tells me what to shoot not the other way around.

But sometimes you just need to be in the right place at the right time and then not F*** it up

EDIT I'm going to reemphasise that. Great Light and shadows is Essential to Amazing Photography. You can't do without it. you have to find THAT, That is the IT
