What's new

Shouldn't there be a historic sign behind her or something. I kid, Ron. Can you share a few of the errors you learned you were doing for the benefit of others if not just for me.

As for these photos my only nit is the water area in the upper left of the frame on the second shot is a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing.

Given my M O, yeah, there probably should be a sign, lol. But I decided to branch out on this one.

The biggest thing that I learned is that you can take really good photos in afternoon sunlight with no reflectors or fill flash. These photos were taken about 4:00 pm in the afternoon. It was sunny with some clouds that rolled in toward the end of the shoot. It is all about the location.

I also learned to use manual mode better, I had become reliant on AV, but she asked us to use manual mode. She gave us a starting point and then we had to go from there. The settings made it seem to me to be underexposed but the instructor was happy with the results on the back of the camera. Once I got them to LR, I noticed that they were just about right on for exposure for the girl and background.

Dang, with 3 of the 4 being landscape instead of portrait, I just KNEW that Derrel would be in here giving me some grief about it.

Now THAT is a lesson with long-lasting value. Seriously. That's something that will bring with it a lot of liberation and freedom, for years to come. That's one of those kinda' really meaningful "takeaway points" that don't come along too often, so, a major benefit from this outing and the instruction she provided you and the other participants!
