Shot the last baseball game of the season for the home town OKC Dodgers of the PCL (AAA affiliate of the LA Dodgers). It was an 11:05 am first pitch so light was not an issue. (Heat and lack of wind was though)
I wanted to try the shot that everyone does of the frozen ball between the pitcher and home plate. I got pretty close on this one.
1) 1D mk IV, 300mm f/2.8, @ f/4, 1/8000, ISO 500
2) 1D mk IV, 300mm f/2.8, @ f/3.2, 1/8000, ISO 500 - This one was frozen better.
3) 1D mk IV, 300mm f/2.8 + 2.0x T.C., @ f/5.6, 1/2000, ISO 1000. I had a request to get some good shots of the catcher for this game. Here is one with very little crop at 600mm + a 1.3x crop factor camera = 780mm effective focal length.
