I sort of doubt that this camera will ever exist. Also, while it'll be cheaper than a Leica, the sensor they are using isn't "budget" by any means. Paired with a mechanical rangefinder, my guess is that this will be about a $2000-5000 camera body in FF.

its not that im unappreciative of a Leica, its just I cannot afford one.

As far as medium format goes, $20K doesn't seem THAT outlandish for a kit that includes a body and two lenses.

hum .. find a new use for duct tape. In the past I only know if anything move which is not suppose to, use duct tape and if anything not move which is not suppose to, use WD40.

Another advantage to the Leica S is that it's not Hasselblad.

Leica M-D Typ 262 Camera Model Registered In Korea | Leica Rumors

Its called "M-D Typ 262" ("Typ" is german for "type", just like "Monchrom" is german for "monochrome").

The name reminds of the "M Typ 262", which of course is a lot cheaper than the unmodified "M Typ 240", so my guess would be the "M-D Typ 262" will also be cheaper, not more expensive, than a regular "M Typ 240".

It will be announced on Thursday, Mar 10 2016.

So theres pictures (its pretty) and the pricing will be about the same as the regular M, while the M Typ 262 is cheaper than a regular M.

They need to keep dumbing them down because their target audience has more money than brains. Lol

I have a 1923 Leica but its a display item.
I wouldn't buy one to use. Other cameras do as well and some do better for less money.
I looked at it, its an ugly box of a thing.

This is the real thing, a rangefinder, manual focus and no fuzz.

Film shooters won't have trouble with no screen

Mine are film M's they are a joy to use with the bright rangefinder, I sold most off my Canon gear because after using a Leica M there was no going back i also gave up on digital
