Lens choices for landscape photography?

hello,

can you recommend me some affordable lens for landscape photography (Canon digital SLR body) please?

do I need Telephoto Zoom Lens or Wide angle ?

You can shoot landscapes with just about any lens.

If you want to shoot with a telephoto, that's up to you. If you want to shoot with a wide angle, that's up to you. What lens(s) do you have now...and what do you think you would want more...something wider or something longer?

And what is 'affordable' to you...may not be affordable to someone else. So if you want a recommendation, you'll have to be more specific.

do you like 3rd-party lenses? Try tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 (though i don't see the usefulness of the fast aperture in landscapes)
or sigma 10-20mm. both are way too cheap compared to an ultra wide angle lens of canon. and oh, definitely Ultra-wide angle for landscapes.

I agree with Big Mike. Photography is all subjective. If you like the photo you made, then it's a great shot! For landscape, seascape and even cityscapes, I use my Nikkor 17-35mm f2.8 lens.
