Lens for Beach Wedding

Depends on the camera you have! For APS-C, a 17-50 or 16-85 zoom lens would be really handy, and would give ample wide-angle and ample telephoto reach for "most" of a beach wedding.

Just picked up a 17-50mm f2.8 for this very reason. Not beach weddings but for wedding. I got a sigma. Its very nice.

My 80mm Sekor lens is perfect

Would love to have this lens. I have a sekor 55mm f1.4 but its really old and really dirty. Still sharp as a razor though.

I was looking at the same lens also the 17-70, and 70-200 2.8 both or at least this is what the guys at photo store tell me I need. I have a friend she shoots with primes 65, and 85 1.4 with using Nikon d3

Mine would not fit because it is on a Mamiya C330, this is what it did on the last shoot with a roll of Fuji Reala
Shooting a wedding with it in September (film only) always said i would never shoot weddings but there is a big demands for film shot weddings

Someone asking for a bit of lens advice to do a friends wedding isn't going to effect work for a pro who does it for a living. People who could not afford photographers for their big day have always been around and have used friends and hoped for the best.

If a certain post here has been 100 times before you don't have to answer it. If your afraid that someone who hasn't a clue (this doesn't mean you OP, just generally) will do you out of money because they have a digital camera or your bitter because you dedicated time and money to perfecting your trade, well I am afraid thats tough luck. I have often seen people ask a plumber how to do this or that to help out a friend who needed a dig out. I believe some here should get off their high horse

I'm scheduled to do a beach wedding for my best friend in June. What lens would you suggest and also, is there any certain tips/tricks I should know about beach photography? Thankss!

Take with u a reflector and someone to hold it for you, and either rent a 17-55 2.8 or 24-70 depending on if u have dx or fx. Along with a 11-16 2.8 tokina or 14-24 Nikon. Don't buy or bring your own lens to a beach wedding, the sand and beach spray is harmful. I have no problem bringing my gear to the beach but I make sure to treat it well, kinda hard to do in a wedding scenario.
