Lightning

Finally got some lightning tonight. I wish the foreground was better but the weather wouldn't allow me to change my vantage point.

That I like lightning over a riverfront???? Honestly, I don't think every photograph has to be a statement. This was a learning exercise for me. If the weather had been co-operating more I would have had a better shot. But with the wind and rain I was limited to shooting from underneath a pavilion.
Since we are on this topic how do others feel about this. Is it only correct to take a shot that makes a statement? Sure it's nice, but a necessity? I personally don't feel the need for all my pictures to be fine art. Sometimes I even take a picture just because I like what I'm seeing........ crazy right?

Nice - I would love to shoot lightning, but we get a storm here maybe once a year at most, and then usually accompanied by a lot of wind & rain.

Well here in missery .... er.... Missouri we get everything but hurricanes! I'm not sure if I should be sad or happy for you.!

Nice shots. I'm waiting for storm season to kick in here in Az.
And i don't think that a photo has to be a statement. If that's what your into great. If he wants to put random words to his phone pics he can.
Great shots. Sometimes you have to shoot where you can when it comes to rain.

Really nice. I''ve been wanting to to try this for sometime now. Assuming you used a Lighting Trigger, any advise on setup?
