I think cropping out the section on the right with the gas meter would help.
It draws the eye too much.

agree with above, it's the brightest section, loose it
 
This is way too tight, imo.
There is no context; you've chopped off the legs of the chair and the steps in the entry but have included a not so interesting other wall with a gas meter that has nothing to do with the store.

I would much rather have seen something framed like this, that put the store in some sort of context,

It's often a good idea to take both a portrait and landscape shot of a scene.
This helps get you thinking about framing the scene and composition options.

I do this often when timing allows.

You're right, i think that i can repeat the photo again, and i will put the result here ;)
