They are not consistent because I used strobe on half of the shoot. A gray card won't do jack because I moved around and the sun sometime out sometime covered by the cloud. You calling me a snot and linking my work and criticized it here made you the snot.

The OP was the one who questioned rather your advice in Post #10 was snotty or helpful. It wasn't helpful, so that only left one option.

As far as your shoot, sounds like some difficult lighting conditions that were changing rapidly. Exactly the type of circumstance where having a calibration target shot under the two or three circumstances you were in would have been ideal. Takes just a second to take a shot of the subject holding a calibration target. If you don't have that 'extra' second or it's impractical, then you don't use it for that shoot. There is a world of difference between telling somebody that sometimes it is impractical to use a target and telling somebody not to bother.

That's the trouble with internet forums. It is difficult to interpret a very short post that doesn't have any context with it. I interpreted your post of, "Dont bother with the grey card.. seriously.." as condescending, rude, and basically telling the OP that she isn't good enough to worry about a proper white balance.
Perhaps, that is not what you meant, but that is how I read it, and judging by the OP's response, how she read it, also.

To me, that sounded like what is called "a parting shot", i.e., one, last snotty comment, made as one is leaving an argument or discussion... and as far as "linking" to your post, which I think of as simply quoting your post, that seems appropriate here. A post which, it needs to be said, was called into question by the original poster. If one does not wish to have his posts quoted back because they make him look like a smart-arse, then one ought not to make posts that make one look like a smart arse...

First of all, I just posted that thread this morning. It had 0 replies. Then he commented it about it here? Doesnt matter. I am offended by it. You cant control how I feel. I really thing that was not very cool and I took it as a personal attack.

I did ask what Schwettylens ment by his "Dont bother with the grey card.. seriously." comment because yes I did take it as a off handed way of saying "forget about it, your not worth the time", but I also am smart enough to know this is the internet and one can't read anything into such a comment I can't see facial expressions or read intent so I asked him to clarify his statement. Simple, I figured problem solved, imagine my surprise to log in and see that a.) he hasn't clarified his statement (or he might have and I missed it because of all the other things being posted) and b.) a little bickering going on in one of my threads, lol.

If you think about it Schwetty, this would be the perfect reason to use a grey card. If lighting conditions change, shoot the grey card again. With your senior pics, I'd shoot a grey and a white card since he is wearing white. My Lastolite card is grey on one side, white on the other, will fold up on itself and can be tucked inside the back of my trousers or be tossed to the side.

perhaps I just dont have the patience to shoot with a gray card. The only person i have seen recently used a gray card in person was a guy who was shooting a video with a DSLR.
