Looking for cheap tripod replacement, Can anyone help?

So my old tripod had one of its legs break. Im looking to spend like 50 dollars on a new one. So whats the best one i can buy around that price point?

I no im not getting anything great for that much, but I just need something quickly and not in need of a high end one, just wanted to no whats the best i can get for 50.

Eh, it's best to save for one that will always last you. Sorry, but I have no recommendations....check your local target, Bestbuy, or walmart, they sell all the little cute cheap ones

Yep picked up this one listed in that link. Not bad and been using a for a month with no problems. But as many here will recommend spending in the $100-$200 range for a heavier and more stable setup. Where outdoor use in Wind may push the lighter less stable over killing your camera. And others have good points about protecting your equipment and not cheap out on a tripod.

For me I needed one for occasional use indoor and outdoors. And very conscious when using it. And dismount camera right away after use. As for some of us even $100 is too far to reach in 6-9 months kind of thing as in my case. And needed something right away and had to bite the bullet and buy the cheapy or do with out one all together. So far it's been a solid performer with no issues. Even had out in windy rainstorm and performed without issue. Tho kept close & Eye on it every second.

You are willing to spend $50 now on another El Cheapo (tripod #2). Perhaps you spent 1/2 as much, or $25 on the first tripod.

Soon your total tripod investment will be $75. What if you had gotten a $75 tripod to start with?

$50 tripods usually have several issues, like durability, not much weight capacity, limited features, etc.

So because of similar issues, in the not too distant future you start looking for tripod #3 and set a $75 budget. That pushes your total tripod investment to $150.

no my first tripod was 250ish dollars. the stupid leg broke off, making me realize failure rates of these things are not to far appart so i dont want to spend alot of money again on a tripod, would rather just spend 50 dollars and save the rest of my money towards nicer glass.

At 250 dollars...I bet the company would work to help fix/replace that tripod. Or...do you beat the **** out of your stuff?

no the tripod was atleast 5 or 6 years old, warranty that came with it lasted 3 years. Although i understand that maybe a cheaper wouldnt last as long, only the problem is i only use a tripod every once in a while, so i dont feel its needed for me to get a more expensive one.

I'm right there with you man. Budget wise, I went with the Slik Pro 700DX. Hardly use the thing but when I do it's a joy

Cheap and tripod (or should I say any camera support equipment) should not go in the same sentence!

the only thing worse than having an expensive tripod break, is having an expensive camera and lens break because of a cheap tripod that cant support a good camera and lens, or blows over at first sign of a breeze.
