Macro lens for Canon EOS 1100d

Please help with the selection of inexpensive macro lens for Canon EOS 1100d. Tired shoot inverted 50mm f/1.8. Sorry for my English. I am from Russia. Examle of my photos:

The Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM is fantastic. When I shot crop-frame I owned that lens and would wax poetic about how wonderful it was. It _easily_ rivaled the image quality of my EF 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro USM -- but costs about half as much. It can only be used on a crop-frame body -- hence I had to give it up.

I passed it along to my niece who didn't use it so much initially (possibly thinking it would only be used for macro situations). I pointed out that even as a general purpose lens it has, by far, the sharpest image quality of any lens she has. Now she uses it a lot more and loves it.

I will say that 60mm is sort of on the minimal focal length for macro... many photographers prefer longer lenses that give them more space between camera and subject.
