Macro's

Im wanting to get one for my Hawaii trip this next month but dont want to spend too much on it. I'll swing tamron or sigma too just dont want to get anything too cheap. Also, what are extention tubes and would they work with my 2.8L as a macro set up?

i use 90mm tamron. I love it.
