Mamiya 645 Pro TL

Hello,

I just bought a used Mamiya 645 Pro TL and have a question about the Manual Film Winder. Since I have never used this model before I was wondering about the way it winds. I loaded it with a expired roll of film and advanced it to frame 1. When the film is advanced, you can hear the film move and feel the drag for say 90 percent of the handles movement, then a click and is it is free for the next say 10 percent and stops. Is this normal? I was able to advance until the end of the roll.

This is the same way 645 works. I have used mine a good deal and it has never failed me. Good luck.

Is it a knob or a crank ...with the crank it is less noticeable

Hello and thanks for your replies. I had been using a friends Bronica and I guess I expected the Mamiya to act the same. I put an old roll of film thru it and everything seems fine. Thanks again..!
