Mason - my little test subject

This little man is quite possibly the most adorable boy I've ever seen next to my own. His mom is my next door neighbor and has done a lot to help me market and get my name out in the community. Now that I've got an indoor studio room I've been teaching myself & fine tuning the aspects of manual OCF and my kids are so sick of my camera. So I needed another guinea pig to practice on. So I borrowed him 10 minutes later, here's what I got. I know the exposure isn't consistent in the two. They're not perfect but I'm already hooked on OCF and the flash manual mode. E-TTL has its place but inside in a controlled environment, there's no other way.

Maybe drop the key 1/2 stop or so; it seems just a bit hot to me. Nicely done otherwise.

use reflector to fill the shadow under nose, ditch the character shirt for a less distracting full style shirt.. last photo try not to trim off the finger. keep it up..

The shirt was totally not my pick His mom just brought him next door on short notice. It was totally for fun just to practice lightning, nothing formal. Although I agree it's distracting. And yes I noticed the finger and it irritates me too because usually I'm really good at watching for that stuff.
