I'm a complete beginner with photography. I currently have an Olympus E-PL5 with the kit 14-42mm lens along with the faster prime 45mm f/1.8. Most of what I shoot is architectural since we have a neat downtown area in my city with many interesting subjects. I occasionally do smaller objects and landscapes. I have found myself sometimes wishing I had a little more reach (longer focal length lens) for some shots. I'm debating if I should stick with faster primes such as the M.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8 and not have to worry as much about lighting or get something adjustable with more reach like the M.Zuiko ED 14-150 f/4.0-5.6? I'm concerned about the sharpness and smaller apertures of the adjustable lenses. I do find myself appreciating the speed of my 45mm because of lighting and depth of field. What do you think of the differences in optical quality between the lenses?
Thank you!
