I did a series of chef/food shots for a mock magazine. Any kind of feedback would be great!:hail:

The 1st image is great!

I also like the 3rd last, makes a good action shot.

The 2nd last is a good 'sneak peek' shot.

The skin tone for the chef holding the knife to the face is a bit pale, I'd like to see more warmth.

The lighting for the second shot doesn't work too well imho.

Sorry if I sound to bland, typing on an ipad while in bed isn't all that comfortable! :p

C&C per req:

1. The background plate with the little bit of food needs to go; crop in tight on the hand and the bowl that he's serving into.

2. Holy specular highlights Batman!! Seriously, MORE diffusion, move your lights closer in and get a polarizing filter on that lens. i'm not sure that a red background and yellow food are an ideal combination. I think a nice plain, wood table or something would be the way to go.

3. WHY is he pointing his knife at me?????

4. I like this, but I'd like to see more of the food/ingredients and less of the appliances. Watch the blown highlights in the background.

5. Her skin is green! Again, what's with the knife? Why is the bottom of her hand cropped?

6. A little more of the cook, and colour here I think.

7. I like this; a good fill image!

8. NOT fond of the Dutch tilt, and I think we need to be closer to the subject.

Overall, not a bad set at all. A little more work needed for lighting and colour correction.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

On the close up food shot you need more depth of field. Only about half the dish is in focus. No 2 isn't lit properly and the background choice isnt good. I think the second to last one is probably your best shot actually, its the one image that really tells a story.
