That was rather rude. Of course it was a play on words to get attention and yes some might say it was lame but, to just outright insult the photo like that is why alot of people join this forum and then blow it off.
It's a cute kid and a cute shot.

To be honest, yes. I love to hear compliments about my daughter, because I think she's beautiful, and I want these moments to last forever.


P.S..... I think I missed your constructive criticism that you say you come here for-to teach all us beginners.. All I got was, "lame.." Didn't teach me much about my picture, but it taught me something about you.

well then my critisim would be, this shot is fine, but it looks like a snap shot to me.. there are many kids in my family, and my wifes, and if i look through the photo album, there are piles of pics like this.. snaps of the kid doing something cute.. but they arent amazing pics, YES, to you it is, because shes your daughter, but from a professional stand point, this is just a plain old snap shot of someones kid...

I just put the first person on my ignore list on this site. For me that is always a sad thing to do as I really am a cup is half full type person.

I would suggest others do the same when individuals repeadily seem to not get the point that they are not being so nice, and continue on down the same road. :thumbdown:

And that picture is just fine. Little girl is smiling, seeming to be having a good ole time. Sometimes people need to look at pictures like that when things are not so good. The worst things could be going on, and that picture comes out. And it will bring a smile to your face. Especially the father and mother!

Some people for some reason keep forcing their opinion that everything has to be done to PRO standards. I just don't get that.

For those who are newer, keep in mind that this is a photography forum and you're posting in one of the many areas in the site dedicated to people who are looking for critique on how the picture can be a better picture.

That means that, by and large, people aren't going to look and go "awwww so cute!", they sometimes won't even see that. They will see your pic and say "Hmm, white balance is off... the horizon is off slightly... you could frame this a little differently to get an interesting effect... there's a lot of dead space you may want to cut out..." etc.

If you're not looking for that, then really... posting here isn't the best idea. Where you really should post is in the "Just for Fun" section or something like that. There people generally just go "awwww! cute!"

Sure, Chris' response was a bit snarky... but it wasn't totally out of line given the nature of what this area is intended for.
