The pose in #1 looks a little awkward, almost as if she's trying to fit in a slightly too small space. It's a nice image, and you've kept the whites however. I wish you hadn't cropped the wrist in #2!

Good capture. But i find the offset mirrors extremely distracting.

The pose in number 1 looks awkward and crunched down. My eyes go right to the mirrors in 2 and 3. They are swell other than that.

The problem I see with #1 is something I have been advocating for quite some time with female subjects. Do NOT have them sit flat on their bottom! A better position IMO is to have them sit on their hip, barring that, place a small pillow underneath one of their cheeks. This will eliminate a horizontal waistline, naturally raise one knee higher than the other, slenderize the thighs and help accentuate the essence of the female form...... the ess curve.

Also IMO, the forward rolled shoulders give the impression of meekness. I feel any type of boudoir shots should show the subject has power, confidence and is comfortable in their own skin. Chin up and chest out, so to speak.

Pretty girl. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I work from home..... youporn dot com is SFW with me, just have to log off the URA first. Not that I do, just sayin' hehehehe

I agree the pose in number one looks very awkward, it's hard to say anything else about it because the pose is so distracting.

I love the last shot though, it's very nicely done (minus the dust spot lol)

Does the full body look any less awkward? I really don't get that from it - I do get the "cramped space" thing though; this entire shoot was a challenge with my current kit. The townhouse, though pretty spacious, still had lots of tight corners and angles. Even at my widest FL (18mm) - some of it was still hard to get.

(this is RAW conversion - no retouching/cropping/PSing... I realize there are a few BG issues and stairs need cleaned up.)

Me too, John... me too :( That's one of my biggest photographic pet peeves!

This month's Rangefinder magazine is their Portrait Issue. There's an interesting article / interview of Jennifer Rozenbaum that's right down your alley.
