Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I loved the advice given on my other photos, so I thought I'd post a few more.

Taken with a Nikon D5000 18-55mm lens. They've all been minorly adjusted/cropped too. If you think I overedited, feel free to tell me about that as well :).

(This one is one of my really early photos after I just got my camera; I feel like the focus point is kind of weird, but I'll just see what you all think.)

Thanks!

1. I dont know about the picture, but the teal and orange are kind of opposites and stand out. Maybe if the orange was less?

2. well it's almost right in the middle of the photo. I think I'd like it if it weren't for that and for the white sky. But I like fence pictures. :)

3. centered again, and you seem to have missed the focus. I do like it other than that, though. Next time you find a spider try again.

Everything is centered.
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Study composition.

I googled the basics of composition and went back and recropped these to see if it would help. I kind of off-centered them, so we'll see what you guys think, haha.

I think it helps in the ice cream photo, but not really much in the spider or fence one.

Helps improve them quite a bit.

Now comes opinions...I would have cropped the spider to be on the left, because I like the curve in the background on the right. Also, it's legs would point into the frame.

You get a gold star for actually taking advice, trying it, and posting the results! It's so rare here.

IMHO, it looks to me like you're trying too hard to be "artsy". For now just stick with scenes that you like and try to capture them. I like to use the benchmark, "Would I put this on my living room wall?"

I just went back and tried it to the left, I think it looks better that way too.

Yay, a gold star! What's the point in giving advice if nobody tries it and shares the new result? :-P

Well, I would put my spider on my living room wall , but I'll take that into consideration next time I decide to take pictures.

Thank you!

You mean lashing out isn't the correct response to less than favorable critique?

Your edited images boost the interest in them, I do think it helped the fence photo more than you believe. Remind yourself to go back and look over it again in a few days- I think you will agree with us.

Keep shooting.:thumbup::thumbup:

Cropping is the bomb. So simple, and so effective.

I like the edits, although I thought #1 was good originally because of the colors.

LOL! If you're asking for critique, in my opinion, you should be willing to accept what people give you. I mean, yeah, you probably think your photos are fantastic and that everybody is going to give you awesome critique, but critique is supposed to be helpful and you ASKED FOR HELP, so no point in lashing out at people who gave you what you want. And everybody, no matter how good your photos are, can always use some helpful comments or tips :). I know that wasn't directed at me, but that's my opinion, haha.

Alright, I'll make sure to come back and look at the picture in a few days.

Thank you!

Thanks, white :). I took a picture of the ice cream because of the colors, lol. I thought it would look cool and I wanted to try out the food scene mode, so tada! And I agree, cropping has done wonders for my pics.

You should teach "Intro to TPF.com 101". Well put.
