Top 10 doesn't mean a whole lot to me but here are some of my favorites:

"Beauty and the Beast" (the 1946 original by Cocteau)

"Apocalypse Now" (again, the original) This is also a great test movie for home theaters.

"Stars Wars: A New Hope" A movie buff's movie. Just about every scene is a reference to movie history.

"Betty Blue" One of my favorite love story. And by the same guy:

"Diva"

"Blacula" The ultimate blaxploitation/vampire movie.

"Chinatown"

"Is Paris Burning?" Very nice WWII movie and for someone my age it is fascinating to see the incredible number of unknown actors in this movie who later became major stars.

Cheers

I always loved the way this movie was shot with two directors: One japanese doing the japanese scenes and one US doing the US scenes. Plus it is a very nice movie.

Makes me think of another beautiful movie: "The Seven Samourai" Incredible photography and some amazing depth of field.

My favorite move is Ethel The Aardvark Goes Quantity Surveying. It's based off a book by a very well known dutch author.

I'm sensing a common theme in (most of) these...lol!

I used to do a lot of work on corporate/VIP business jets (all gov't now).
This was ALWAYS the movie we used to test the planes sound/video system.

...Those tests were pretty nice.

We're talking about 1/4 - 1/2 billion dollar aircraft here... No expense was spared.

Dang! If you have too many, I wonder about myself... I have 600+ :lmao:

...I don't feel so bad now. :)

Don't feel bad at all. We've got a database set up for our DVD collection, similar to yours, and it has 1158 currently listed. :blushing:

My wife always manages to find the "3 for $20" or "4 for $20" sales racks.

I love those... You can usually find some pretty good movies in there too.
Good to know that I'm not the only one with a database too, lol!

Got (not off the cheap rack - new releases) Knowing and Push this weekend.

Knowing was pretty good. One of the only "End of the World" movies I can remember where the world actually ends.

Getting ready to watch Push in a few minutes. ...Just waiting for my wife. :waiting:

Your going to miss Bill Maher

Done. Programmed to record.

That was close... Thanks again!

Its not like they dont play it over and over again all weekend....=)

Enjoy the movie w/ the wifie!!

Thanks Josh. Just ordered "Knowing". My wife loves end of the world movies. If it actually ends in this one, she's going to love it. Was Nic Cage any good this time around?
