Musician that buried my DSLR

I photographed this guy on my way to the office with my mobile phone. My phone has a crappy plastic lense that is always dirty and I do not even care how many pixels. Probably 127. It has a horrible shutter lag and for some reason no viewfinder whatsoever. But it was so much better than my Nikon DSLR today. It was miles better. Because my Nikon stayed at home -literally miles behind. As it is the case most of the time. It really made me think yet again: do I really need a DSLR camera? Even more so - do i need to upgrade my current DSLR to a "better" one? I know for a fact that I have missed more great shots with my Nikon than I have taken. Should I upgrade to a FF, I would miss even more...:???:

The camera that takes the crappiest pictures is the one that stays at home

And THIS is exactly why my Mamiya 645 is coming out to play this weekend. And probably the next as well.

And I love the eye contact and facial expression in that picture.

This is why I think I'm going to stick with a nice mirrorless instead of going with an entry level SLR. I always forget how big a decent SLR is until I see my friend with his...I'd never take it anywhere.

Thank you. O wonder how do people react to your Mamiya in the street? Probably they are so surprised they forget to get angry.

Most people aren't sure what to think of the Mamiya, especially when they can't figure out where the preview screen is

But I also don't really take a lot of street photos with it so it's more an object of curiosity, not annoyance. It's too heavy, slows down the getaway sprint

I suppose it would be useful as a weapon, but I don't really want to injure the camera. Most of my street stuff is taken with the K1000 because that's the one I can operate almost without thinking.
